Ward chairman Bhuntu donates his year’s salary to elderly

    Gambir Singh Chasir, 100, of Bhimdutta Municipality-1 reached the ward office on Thursday morning. The previous day, the ward office had prepared to give the salary received by ward chairperson Ashif Kunwar (Bhuntu) to the senior citizens (above 70 years) of the village, single women, visually impaired and disabled people.

    Accordingly, Kunwar, who was elected to the local level from the ward office, distributed his salary for the year in the village.

    He also said that he would give the previous term and the amount of this tenure to the senior citizens for charitable work in the society.

    Rs 1,500 each has been distributed to 141 people. “I have come to serve the people and not to get my salary,” kunwar said, adding, “I have come to serve the people and not to get my salary.”

    He had distributed Rs 211,500 as salary in one year with the help of ward office officials. The monthly salary of the ward chair is Rs 22,000.

    “Senior citizens here are my guardians,” he said, adding, “With their blessings, I will move forward in politics.” ”

    The local senior citizens have rejoiced after the ward chair distributed the amount. They also greeted Chairman Huwar by cheering him. 100-year-old Gambir Singh Chasir, who has been living in the village for three decades, said, “We have elected from the sarpanch to the vdc chairman.” ”

    100-year-old Gambir Singh Chasir said, “The president has done a good job. Some elderly people even shed tears of joy as they hugged the chairman while distributing the money in turn.
